With nearly four decades devoted to artistry, Allahyarham Encik Norhaiza bin Noordin was more than a master craftsman; he was a guardian of refinement, patience and heritage. His journey began in traditional woodcarving, where he brought the elegance of Malay craftsmanship from Terengganu to a wider audience.

In 2014, his journey extended into the revival of Telepuk, where his mastery of fine woodcarving helped restore the carved blocks central to this delicate heritage art. One of his most significant contributions was Pesona Telepuk, an exhibition presented at the National Textile Museum in collaboration with Langkasuka Movement, which brought greater attention to the craft and its continued relevance. Held shortly before his passing in December 2024, the exhibition stands as a meaningful culmination of his efforts to preserve, document and reintroduce Telepuk to the public.

His legacy reminds us that every traditional craft carries the hands, heart and wisdom of its maker. Through the knowledge he shared and the paths he opened for others, his dedication continues to live on in the preservation and practice of Malay heritage today.
